Our Story

Authentic Magazine was born from a deep conviction to see women fully step into who they were created to be. Before its launch, our founder and Editor-in-Chief, Tendayi, spent 17 years in the clothing retail industry—an experience that sharpened her understanding of identity, expression, and the powerful influence of culture.

In 2016, she began a transformative journey of faith, seeking a deeper understanding of her identity in God. Through this process, she recognized a wider truth: many women are navigating life shaped by societal and cultural expectations that often obscure their authentic selves. Too often, this leads to settling into roles and identities that fall short of their true purpose.

With growing clarity, Tendayi came to understand the importance of embracing one’s God-given identity as a Daughter of Zion—an identity rooted in truth, strength, and divine purpose. When this foundation is fully embraced, it unlocks confidence, clarity, and the freedom to live and express oneself wholeheartedly.

In 2018, guided by the Holy Spirit and inspired by Proverbs 31:8—“Speak out on behalf of the voiceless and for the rights of all who are vulnerable”—she stepped into her calling. What began as a personal journey evolved into a broader mission: to create a platform that amplifies truth, restores identity, and empowers women to rise into their fullness.

Authentic Magazine exists to champion that mission—encouraging women to walk boldly in their freedom in Christ and to thrive in the fullness of who they were always meant to be.
